WordPress services
Senior WordPress development and consulting for brands, agencies, and product teams — custom builds, WooCommerce, APIs, performance, security, and website operations. The notes below are the work I actually take on.
The same practice, embedded with your team: Forward Deployed Engineer.
01
WordPress development
Custom WordPress for teams that already know a brochure theme will not survive the next release.
Most of the work is still WordPress: custom themes, Gutenberg (block) templates, ACF and custom post types, editor workflows, and the PHP that has to stay maintainable after handover. I also take on migrations, refactors, and code review when an existing site has drifted.
This is full-stack WordPress delivery — templates and the data model, Git deploys, and the integrations the rest of the stack expects — not a visual rebuild that leaves the same bottlenecks in place.
- Custom theme and block development (Gutenberg, ACF)
- Custom post types, editorial models, and migrations
- Integrations, code review, and ongoing support

WordPress consulting
Architecture and technical direction when the question is “what should we build?” rather than “who can style this theme?”
Consulting here means discovery, audits, and a written direction the team can execute — hosting, plugin risk, performance, security, and whether a feature belongs in WordPress or outside it. I work with in-house teams and agencies that need a senior pair of eyes, not another layer of account management.
If the honest answer is “do not build that in WordPress,” that is the recommendation. A demo that hides the constraint costs more later.
- Technical audits and architecture reviews
- Performance, security, and scalability direction
- Troubleshooting and delivery planning with your team
Not sure whether you need a consultant, an agency, or a freelancer? How to choose a WordPress technical architect.

WooCommerce
Catalogues and checkout paths that have to convert, not a stock storefront with a new coat of CSS.
WooCommerce work I take on is custom catalogue behaviour, checkout and cart performance, and the plugin/query load that usually explains a slow product page. I do not pretend every brand site is a shop: some of the portfolio is content or brand, and those stay WordPress without WooCommerce.
- Custom WooCommerce development and catalogue UX
- Checkout, cart, and query performance
- Integrations around orders, inventory, and fulfilment

API and headless WordPress
REST API work, custom endpoints, and frontends that consume WordPress without pretending headless is always the answer.
Typical jobs: custom REST endpoints, authentication, and wiring WordPress to React/Next.js or another system that already owns the UI. Headless is a fit when the editorial model in WordPress is worth keeping and the front end is not. It is a poor fit when the team still needs preview, forms, and a theme they can edit.
The public tools on this site include a headless-decision quiz for that exact trade-off — use it before commissioning a rebuild.
- Custom REST API endpoints and integrations
- React / Next.js frontends that consume WordPress
- Auth, webhooks, and external systems

Performance
Core Web Vitals, caching, queries, and the plugin pile — measured on the real page, not a lab URL that never runs the stack.
The usual suspects are uncached database work, oversized images, render-blocking scripts, and a CDN that was never wired to the HTML cache. I work through object cache, page cache, query work, and PHP where it is actually on the critical path. Hosting matters: DigitalOcean, other VPS, and enterprise platforms each fail in different ways.
- Core Web Vitals and front-end payload
- Caching, CDN, and database/query work
- PHP and image optimisation that survive editor uploads

WordPress security
Hardening, plugin/theme review, and incident investigation on sites that already have editors, plugins, and a history.
I review how WordPress is configured, which plugins actually run, and where custom code trusts input. That includes hardening, access habits, and remediation after a compromise — not a 24/7 SOC or a fake “hack-proof” badge. Healthcare and login-heavy fronts get extra attention because a pretty theme is not an access model.
- Hardening and security configuration
- Plugin/theme review and vulnerability investigation
- Remediation and safer editor/admin habits

Website operations
A maintenance retainer: Composer-locked updates, the host you already pay for, and daily Git hours — after launch, not a $49 care plan.
The combined hire is maintenance plus retainer hours on one Git path. Plugin versions stay Composer-locked, tested on a lower environment, then promoted. I have operated WordPress on Pantheon, WP Engine, Azure, GCP, AWS, DigitalOcean, GoDaddy, and Hostinger. I do not resell those hosts.
Specialist pages split the same work if you only need maintenance, hosting, or monthly hours. Coverage is IST business hours — not a 24/7 NOC.
- Composer-locked updates tested on staging, then promoted
- Pantheon, WP Engine, Azure, GCP, AWS, DigitalOcean, GoDaddy, Hostinger
- Multi-env Git deploys and monthly hours against a backlog

Who this is for
Brands, agencies, and product teams that need senior WordPress engineering — not a generic build.
I have spent 9+ years on WordPress platforms: publishing estates, WooCommerce catalogues, product marketing sites, and the Git/hosting path that has to survive handover. The case studies on this site are that work. If you need a factory of landing pages or a city-page mill, this is the wrong practice.
If the problem is already in production, start with the constraint — stack, deadline, and who has to edit the site afterwards. Book a consultation or read the case studies.
Working with Vijay was a great experience. He quickly adapted to our enterprise standards, handled large-scale CMS integrations, and maintained pixel-perfect brand consistency across multiple Campbells-owned websites.
Vijay has been an integral part of our digital development projects at Trivone. His ability to handle both backend and frontend challenges across multiple media portals ensured consistent, high-quality delivery.
Vijay completely revamped our e-commerce website, improving both user experience and site performance. From custom WooCommerce development to optimizing page load time, his full-stack expertise helped us achieve faster conversions.
Vijay did a fantastic job creating our brand website from scratch. He combined modern design with responsive, SEO-friendly development that aligned perfectly with our brand identity.
Vijay transformed my personal brand site into a fast, visually polished, and mobile-friendly platform. I appreciated his responsiveness and commitment to delivering quality work.
Vijay helped us build a secure, user-friendly healthcare platform that patients and doctors can trust. He handled complex technical requirements with professionalism.
He treated our brand sites like a product catalogue, not a brochure. Regional variants, fitting families, and editorial control stayed in one WordPress estate without the usual drift.
The product site finally matches how we sell fittings: clear ranges, technical pages editors can update, and a front end that holds up on a warehouse tablet.
Vijay rebuilt the brand site so specifiers can find the right push-fit range without wading through a generic template. Clean, fast, and easy for marketing to own.
Vijay took our Figma and turned it into a production WordPress site we could actually host and maintain. Hosting, Git deploys, and a setup guide meant we were not stuck in a handover fog.
He shipped a product site that keeps push-to-connect ranges, installers, and campaign pages in the same WordPress system. We can launch a SKU page without opening a development ticket every time.
Vijay modelled books and imprints the way a publisher actually works. Editors publish titles and campaigns in WordPress instead of waiting on a developer for every landing page.
The cookbook site needed to feel like a kitchen, not a CMS. Recipes, authors, and features now sit in structured fields our food team can keep current.
He gave our crime list a WordPress home that matches the tone of the imprint — features, authors, and new titles without a tangle of one-off pages.
Graded readers need structure. Vijay built an education site where series, levels, and classroom content stay related instead of living as disconnected posts.
Vijay led WordPress delivery on large programmes with a standard the rest of the team could follow — APIs, performance, and reviews that made the next release easier.
He built WooCommerce and custom WordPress we could keep in production. Security and performance were part of the build, not a later project.
Vijay gave us a WordPress site that finally matches how we talk about readiness — clear for enterprise buyers, fast enough for a SaaS funnel, and editable by the team after handover.
Vijay understood that a coach-training site is not a brochure. Programmes, corporate work, and enquiry paths now sit on WordPress we can maintain without calling a developer for every edit.
