Series, levels, and classroom resources that stay related in WordPress
Teachers and editors can find the right reader without a disconnected blog
About Penguin Readers
- Penguin Readers is a graded-reader programme. The site has to help teachers and parents find the right series and level, then give editorial a place for classroom content.
- Books here are not a flat catalogue. Levels, series, and resources have to relate or the site becomes a pile of posts.
- Education publishing is a content-architecture job. Templates have to stay clear when the metadata is dense.
- This page is the education-site story inside the wider Penguin work.
Project overview
Penguin Readers needed WordPress that behaved like an education catalogue: series, levels, and supporting resources in one system.
I modelled those relationships and built the templates around them, so classroom content did not live as disconnected posts.
Project goals
01
Keep series and levels related so the right reader is findable.
02
Give classroom content a home that is not a leftover blog template.
03
Leave editors a structure they can extend as new levels publish.
Client's words
Graded readers need structure. Vijay built an education site where series, levels, and classroom content stay related instead of living as disconnected posts.
